A Dallas native and visionary builder, Kevin Brown brings over 25 years of experience in construction management, real estate development, and design-build execution. As the Founder and Head of Construction for Simply Custom, Kevin has led the firm’s growth from a custom home builder into a full-service commercial and residential development company recognized for its integrity, innovation, and craftsmanship.

His vision is simple yet powerful — to provide a premier one-stop design and build experience that guides clients seamlessly from concept to completion. Through strategic financial partnerships and an extensive network of architects, engineers, and trade professionals, Kevin ensures that every project reflects both creativity and solid financial stewardship. His expertise spans property selection, site assessment, acquisition, subdivision development, and the full spectrum of design coordination and construction delivery.

Kevin’s mission extends beyond construction — it’s about empowering communities through restoration, revitalization, and wealth retention. His God-given passion is evident in every initiative he leads: from improving senior housing and neighborhood redevelopment to mentoring youth and equipping the next generation with trade skills that build lasting opportunity.

Charismatic, forward-thinking, and deeply rooted in faith and family, Kevin stands as one of the most innovative trailblazers in the development industry. Since founding Simply Custom in 2005, he has transformed his vision into a platform that continues to shape communities and inspire excellence — one project, one family, and one future at a time.

A Dallas native and trailblazer in design, architecture, and construction management, Jeannette Brown-Sneed has built an extraordinary career defined by vision, leadership, and service. Before joining Simply Custom as a Partner in 2006, she served the City of Dallas for nearly three decades, retiring as Facilities Manager and Head of the Capital Improvements Division for the Dallas Public Library system.

Jeannette made history as the first African American woman to serve as Project Manager within the City of Dallas Public Works Department’s Architectural Division — a role in which she managed a $55 million capital budget and oversaw the planning, design, and construction of civic projects that continue to enrich the city today. She played a pivotal role in establishing the 10-Year Library Facilities Master Plan, recommending a $144 million program for new facilities, replacements, and major renovations. Her work helped secure City Council approval for $101.5 million, later presented to voters across two bond elections (2003 and 2006), resulting in transformative upgrades across the city’s library system.

Among her most notable accomplishments are the restoration of Dallas landmarks such as the  Hall of State and Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park, MLK Center, Dallas Museum of Arts and the legacy Dallas Convention Center, alongside the construction of new libraries throughout the southern sector — projects that reflect both her technical mastery and her dedication to equitable community development. Her service was recognized with acknowledgments from the Mayor and two Councilmembers upon her retirement.

Since joining Simply Custom, Jeannette has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s commercial construction and custom home design divisions, bringing her decades of public-sector expertise into the private realm. Her creative insight, architectural knowledge, and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to make her an invaluable leader — and a source of inspiration within the Dallas design and construction community.

  

Mrs. Howunna Johnson, a proud Dallas native, brings over 20 years of operational and financial leadership to her role as Chief Operations Officer at Simply Custom Dev. LLC. Throughout her career, she has held officer-level roles with several Fortune 100 corporations and supported operations for some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

As Vice President at Citibank, Mrs. Johnson traveled extensively across the United States, serving as a corporate representative to mitigate risk and minimize exposure on behalf of the organization. Her expertise spans banking, risk management, litigation strategy, vendor oversight, and executive-level operations.

In 2019, she transitioned from Corporate America to the private sector and joined Simply Custom, where she oversees operations and client engagement from pre-construction through project completion. With a degree in Business Administration, she dedicates significant time to mentoring and strategizing with internal teams and external clients—equipping business leaders with tools for financial literacy, project planning, and long-term growth.

Mrs. Johnson is deeply rooted in her Christian faith, which informs her leadership, work ethic, and commitment to servant leadership. She believes that integrity, stewardship, and purpose-driven service are the foundation of meaningful work and lasting impact.

Having grown up immersed in real estate, construction, and development through her family's legacy, she has embraced this new chapter fully—bridging financial expertise with industry passion. She is also an advocate for adolescent development and financial education, actively supporting community-focused initiatives that empower the next generation.

As Lead Superintendent for Simply Custom, Kuane Brown brings over 15 years of construction leadership and a deep commitment to craftsmanship, community, and sustainability. Known for his consistency, accountability, and people-first leadership, Kuane manages field operations across residential and commercial projects — ensuring every build meets Simply Custom’s rigorous standards for quality, safety, and performance.

His extensive portfolio includes signature projects such as GoodWork Dallas (a LEED Platinum–certified coworking redevelopment), Fit Social I & II, Harris House of Heros, Oak Street Health Clinics across DFW, Ruthies Cafe and the Creekside at Carter and other Residential Subdivisions. Kuane’s ability to lead diverse teams, coordinate complex schedules, and maintain client confidence has made him a cornerstone of Simply Custom’s construction division.

Beyond the jobsite, Kuane is passionate about implementing self-sustainable community strategies that make a lasting difference — from creating community gardens and hiring the homeless where possible, to mentoring youth and fostering local workforce development. His dedication to blending sustainable construction practices with social responsibility reflects Simply Custom’s mission to build spaces — and futures — that strengthen communities from the ground up.

With over 18 years of hands-on experience, Tyson Johnson serves as a key contributor of Simply Custom’s Commercial and Residential Construction Division. Beginning his career as an electrical apprentice, Tyson developed a meticulous eye for detail and a deep technical understanding of the construction process — qualities that now define his leadership as a Senior Project Manager.

He oversees all phases of construction from pre-development coordination and budgeting to field execution and final delivery. Tyson’s approach combines disciplined project management with an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and client satisfaction. His project portfolio includes major developments such as Oak Street Health Medical Centers, Curl Salon Suites, Fit Social Club II, Good Hair Day, Kumon Learning Center Ruthies Cafe and numerous residential builds across the DFW metroplex — each reflecting his precision, consistency, and results-driven focus.

Beyond his technical expertise, Tyson is passionate about mentoring young professionals, developing the next generation of builders, and giving back through community and youth development initiatives. His blend of trade knowledge, leadership integrity, and service-minded spirit continues to shape Simply Custom’s reputation for building with excellence — from the first sketch to the final finish.
